How To Dispose Of Your Old ATV Tires
When it comes time to replace your old and worn ATV tires, many riders are eager to purchase new tires, but many are unaware what to do with the old ones. Regardless where you live, throwing old tires in a body or water or natural environment is improper?and in many cases illegal?since the tires can corrupt nature. When disposing of your old ATV tires, be sure to do so in a proper and legal manner that will not negatively impact the environment for future generations. More and more often, tires are being recycled and formed into all sorts of new products. From park benches to carpets, recycled rubber is a durable and economical product. When you are faced with the decision what to do with your old ATV tires, look to your local recycling company to see if rubber is accepted. Although you may not be able to place your tires to the curb if you community is involved with curbside recycling, the recycling plant may be able to take the tires off your hands. Look to the phonebook or internet to find a recycling facility near you and make a quick visit or telephone call to see if your tires are able to be recycled. Most tire stores that provide you with new tires for your ATV will be able to take your old ones. Before you make the change, be sure to ask the tire center what they do with old tires if you are concerned about the environmental impact unused rubber causes. Also, there may be a slight fee involved with properly disposing of your old tires, so know this amount upfront in order to prevent any surprises at the cash register. The state in which you live may have certain regulations or fees involving tire disposal, and this is often incorporated into your bill and is listed separately from the cost of the new tires or the labor to install the tires on your ATV. If your old tires still have life in them, consider giving them to a friend or family member with an ATV. Keep in mind that old tires should only be used if they still have ample tread and are able to ensure the vehicle can be driven safely. Also, consider selling your old ATV tires so that you can use the profits to buy a new set. Look to your local newspaper and list a classified advertisement or turn to the internet with sites like Ebay or Craigslist to sell your tires. These are great resources and you may even find a new set of ATV tires listed at a more economical price than offered at your local tire store.
A Woman's Guide to Basic Tire Care
Women certainly are not helpless. But sometimes we are a little overwhelmed working a 40-hour week, taking care of the children, cooking, cleaning, and doing laundry. The car is just another added burden when there isn’t a man around to tinker with it. For the woman who finds herself in this situation, this is a short primer on routine tire care that will extend the life of your tires and hopefully make your life a little bit easier. Check Tire Pressure Regularly: Tire pressure should be checked whenever you suspect a problem or at a minimum, seasonally. Symptoms of improper tire pressure include excess wear and squeeling when going around a corner (for under-inflated tires) and reduced traction (for over-inflated tires). Even the temperature can affect your tire pressure. Check your owner’s manual to find where they’ve posted the proper tire pressure (usually on one of the doors) and be sure to keep it at that level. An improperly inflated tire not only wears quicker, it can also be dangerous when stopping and can cause tread separation. You can purchase a tire-pressure gauge at your local auto parts store, use a gauge at the gas station or ask your tire dealer to check it for you. Have Your Tires Rotated: Tires should be rotated every 5000 - 6000 miles. For various reasons, all four tires on a car do not wear the same. The purpose of the tire rotation is to allow for even wear and an extended life for your tires. Some manufacturers recommend “cross-rotation” (moving the right-front tire to the left-rear, etc.). Check your owner’s manual for it’s recommendations. Have your tire dealer rotate your tires regularly. Check Your Wheel Alignment: If you’ve hit a pothole or scraped your tire on a curb, your wheels may have been thrown out of alignment. Symptoms of wheels that are out of alignment are excessive wear (one tire may wear more than the others) and steering problems. You may notice that your car veers to the side when you’re on a straight road or the car doesn’t steer properly in a turn. Unless you notice any of these symptons, you should have your alignment checked annually. Have Your Wheels Balanced at the Same Time They’re Rotated: An improperly balanced wheel will cause a vibration at higher speeds (50-70 MPH) which is noticable in the steering wheel (if a front tire is out of balance) or in the seat (if a rear tire is out of balance). It will also increase wear of shock absorbers, struts and suspensions. If you notice any of these symptoms, you should have your tire dealer take a look. He will need to locate the heavier part of the tire and attach a lead weight opposite it to counter-balance it. Unless you notice any of these symptoms, you should have your wheels balanced every time you have them rotated (every 5000 - 6000 miles).
Why your next pickup should be a GM
Oddly enough, out of all of the research done into hybrid technology GM has been forward thinking enough to make theirs are not only affordable, but ingenious as well. They now offer both the Sierra and the Silverado pickups as hybrids country wide. Using a technology not formerly seen in hybrids, GM attempted to not only lower emissions in their pickups, but to make them handier as well. Affordable technologyGM wanted to make a hybrid truck that was too well priced to turn down, the major complaint of the hybrid models is high price tag which counteracts the gas mileage benefits. In response to this GM produced their pick up hybrids to cost only $1500.00-$2500.00 more than its gas guzzling brothers, saved with tax cuts at the pump within the first few years of ownership. Especially if you consider that the hybrids produce a 10% improvement in fuel economy, all without sacrificing any power. Both the Sierra and Silverado offer the same 245 horsepower V8 engine, and can tow up to 7,700 pounds. If you consider that pickup truck drivers are not sacrificing any power and when sitting stopped in traffic it emits very limited pollution for their size. Hybrid systemGM employs what they call a “flywheel alternator starter hybrid system” which uses a compact electric motor incorporated between the engine and the transmission. This electric engine runs the truck when it is slowing or idling at a standstill. They calibrate the flywheel alternator system to turn off the engine more frequently than even those systems used in most smaller hybrid models. Eliminating much of the pollution caused by slow moving traffic in high volume. Now your work truck can double as a generatorBoth the Sierra and the Silverado boost four 120-volt, 20 amp three-prong outlets which can be used to provide power for electrical tools and electronics. This eliminates any need for a gassy generator spewing fumes into the air at a work site. The truck must be running, but utilizing it’s electric engine allows it to run virtually emission free. GM reports that their hybrid trucks can continue to pump out power for up to 32 hours non-stop before needing to refuel. Aimed specifically at contractors, whose need to access abundant sources of energy and drive long miles to job sites fuel this intelligent new take on a work truck. Testers reportThe power source for tools was not quite as juicy as GM would have you think, however the idea is a brilliant one. No doubt in a few generations they will have nailed down this imperfection in an already forward thinking vehicle. Although the gas mileage is a tad better overall, it borders on insignificant. Which again is certain to be addressed and updated in generations to come. Reviewers say that the feel of the engine cutting out as you hit ten miles an hour is a bit disconcerting, and takes some getting used to, but its pollution saving benefits far outweigh that small detail. Every accessory on the truck is electrical, so the gas engine only runs when it is needed to for its sole purpose, to accelerate the vehicle. Overall appealThe brilliance behind the ideas developed for these pickup truck models is really what drives them at this point. Fine tuning is necessary of any piece of equipment and GM has been making pick up trucks for a long time. They will continue to address the issues and refine the existing good points, driving the hybrid market to continue to bring us new and innovative ideas. <b>About the Author:</b> My name is Paige Filler and I'm a creative writer with a love of all things that go vroom.

How I sold my teachers used car in less than two hours!
Class projectMarketing teachers have always been dynamic, which is probably why I enjoy my marketing courses so much in school. One teacher in particular stands out to me, he made a big deal of utilizing real life examples to demonstrate his curriculum. Generally searing the concept into our ripe minds. His most recent brainstorm came last week when he told the class that whoever could sell his used car the fastest and for the most money would be excused from the midterm. This was not a ’sell a used car’ lesson, this was a ‘market value’ lesson.Everyone was game for the task and ready to get started, but there was just one question left to ask; what was the car and where was the car? The car was in the parking lot, and by the looks of it had been there a while, it was a ratty old Honda Accord that had seen better days. Everyone cringed as they saw it, but then the look of steely determination took over most faces, the idea of skipping a hefty midterm high in everyone’s minds. Method optionsThis class met twice a week for two hours both times, he gave us this assignment at the beginning of the class period and told us to research our options and the market value of the vehicle, and to have something to show him by the end of the class period. Everyone went to work right away, some of the guys even borrowed a hose from maintenance and went to town washing the Accord in the hopes of raising its value. I took another route, I jotted down all of the information about the vehicle, then I went directly to the computer lab. I had a secret weapon, the fastest way to sell a car is to go online. My sister had just sold her car to an online service, and had raved about how easy it had been. Online solution to a real life problemI went to their website and filled out their brief online form, which allowed the car to start accumulating bids right away. Then I called their 800 number to cover all my bases. The woman who answered the phone was very helpful and when I explained the project to her she was eager to help me win. She said it was lucky I called when I did because they had an appraiser near the school who would be finished with his appointment shortly. She phoned him and asked him to come see my teachers Accord, sure enough he appeared in the parking lot 15 minutes later. No midterm for meMy fellow students didn’t know what hit them. I called my teacher out to the parking lot and less than half an hour later he had cash in his hand for his ratty old Honda. Not only did I eliminate one midterm off my schedule, but I earned the respect of a teacher I respected. <b>About the Author:</b> My name is Paige Filler and I'm a creative writer with a love of all things that go vroom. I do my homework to bring thought and innovation into everything I write about the auto industry. You can find more of my stuff at <a href="http://www.cash4usedcars.com/" target="blank">Cash 4 Used Cars</a>, and <a href="http://blog.cash4usedcars.com/" target="blank"> this blog.</a>
Source: www.ArticlePros.com

3 Places not to go when you sell a car
Car dealershipsMainly because of their industry, car salesmen have a bad reputation in general. Sure, there are some car salesmen out there who are great people, contribute to charity, good with children, but bottom line; they still sell cars for a living. Point being, if someone wants to sell a car and they go to a dealership they will have to interact with a salesman whose one goal is to sell them a car. They don’t care that you want to sell a car, all they care about is the new vehicle they want you to buy. Particularly this coming year of 2007, it has been predicted that used car sales will rise as new car sales decline. This means that those car salesmen at dealerships will be chasing their customers with added desperation trying to defeat those projections. Do yourself a favor when you want to sell a car and avoid the headache and potential purchase that comes along with a dealership. The local newspaperWhile it may seem simple to place an ad in your local rag and deal with individual buyers yourself, beware of the many issues that may arise from this avenue. To begin with you are forced to reveal your contact information, which lets face it, in this day and age can be a bad idea. Not to mention that you are forced to meet with strangers (always do it in a crowded public place), and allow them to test drive your vehicle. This poses a liability problem to your insurance carrier, and could be a personal liability for obvious reasons. In addition to close contact with strangers, there is also the issue of haggling, selling and convincing reluctant potential buyers, not to mention people who aren’t serious about buying wasting your time. Another serious issue is payment fraud. Selling a big ticket item isn’t something to be taken lightly and almost any type of payment you take can be fraudulent. If you must sell a car yourself be sure to only accept cashiers checks made out to you, and as an added step you should meet the buyer at the bank the check is drawn off of and never turn over the keys until you have negotiated the check and have cash (or another cashiers check you purchased) in your hand. A high visibility parking lotMany people simply buy a ‘For Sale’ sign and slap it in a window of the vehicle they want to get rid of. Quite frankly, driving with a for sale sign in the window isn’t a good way to advertise, talk about dealing with strangers. No one wants people yelling offers to them at stoplights, and while moving there is no way to make the copy large enough for passing vehicles to see. Many people will take their car and its ‘For Sale’ sign and put it in a parking lot with high visibility and lots of traffic. Beyond the obvious angry business owners and parking violations, this is another method of selling that requires your contact information becoming public knowledge. Not only can that incur unwanted attention, but it also gives that angry business owner or code enforcement officer a quick and easy way to track you down. There is a solutionIt may seem hopeless when you want to sell a car, there are flaws with almost any method you use. However, the newest and perhaps the most easy alternative lies in your computer. The internet offers any number of websites that make selling your car a snap. Not only do most of them come to you, but many offer cash to sellers. Utilizing affiliates within the industries helps them to eliminate your footwork and get you a reasonable price. &lt;b&gt;About the Author:&lt;/b&gt; My name is Paige Filler and I&#39;m a creative writer with a love of all things that go vroom.
Advantages Of Diesel Engines
If you wanted to own a new car powered by a diesel engine or if you own one now, you no doubt appreciate the qualities this engine provides you with. More torque, better fuel economy, and easier maintenance are but a few of the attributes of owning diesel powered vehicles . However, there are some motorists that still complain about the engine’s weak power, especially when accelerating from a full stop. What you may not be aware of is the fact that a diesel engine can be tweaked to give more power without harming the fuel economy . New diesel engines cars use air compression to create combustion versus the fuel/air mixture that is required by gas engines. This attribute means that diesel engines don’t require spark plugs and therefore don’t need to be tuned up . Diesel fuel has a much high fuel density than gas, which results in fuel economy increases of 20 - 30% over gasoline powered vehicles . Diesel engines are also cheaper to maintain as they have less parts than that of a gasoline powered engine. The life span of a diesel engine is also much longer . If you’re looking for torque, for pulling a boat or other equipment, then the diesel engine has the supreme advantage. Diesel engines are surely slower, especially when starting from a dead stop, although when you climb hills or go over bridges, the diesel engine is surely up to the task . With new trucks, diesel is normally the leader over gas engines in terms of performance and miles per gallon. Diesel trucks will get more miles than gas trucks, and the price for diesel is a bit cheaper than gas these days . And with gas prices on the rise, diesel will continue to dominate for a long time to come . http://www.new-carpurchase.blogspot.comDiesel engines are also cheaper to maintain as they have less parts than that of a gasoline powered engine.

Is it safe to buy a rental car?
When you are considering buying a used vehicle, it is important to cover all of your bases and take all options into consideration. Most people don’t even think about the buy a rental car option. It is an option with many pros and cons and it is worth it to factor them into your used car purchase decision. Rental car purchase prosFirst things first, as a used buyer you know where this car is coming from. Chances are the car has been kept clean and well maintained during its life as a rental. Any rental service that sells their cars should be able to offer you maintenance records to back that up. In fact it should be insisted upon to ensure that the car has been properly cared for. Pricing is another attractive factor if you want to purchase a rental car. Many of the cars rental agencies will offer for sale are less than a year old and have less than 25,000 miles on them. Do not be suspect when you see a newer model for sale, it does not necessarily indicate that the vehicle is problematic. Rental companies are able to purchase their vehicle at the bare minimum fleet pricing, enabling them to re-sell at very competitive prices. Another pro is the possibility of a warranty still intact with a purchase through a rental car company. Because they generally sell them within a year of purchase and at a reasonable mileage, there is a good chance that there will still be some time left on the manufacturers warranty. Giving the new owner a little peace of mind, especially when you consider the cons of purchasing a rental car. Rental car purchase consAnyone who has rented a car has probably heard this joke, “What’s the difference between a rental car and a 4X4? A rental car can go anywhere!” It’s funny when you rent a car, but when you are looking to buy a rental car suddenly it’s not so funny anymore. This being the biggest con of them all, people are hard on rental cars. The rental companies have no idea what the car actually endures while in the care of the individuals it rents to. Of course they will assure you that the car was not mistreated, but again, anyone who has rented a car knows the kind of abuse they can take. Generally the rental agencies will inspect the car upon its return to their lot to ensure that there has been no damage. However what is reported at that point is largely cosmetic, and while aesthetics are important, it’s what’s inside that really counts. If you are considering purchasing a rental car, be sure to take it to an outside, unaffiliated mechanic for a through inspection to ensure that the vehicle has not suffered mechanically at the hands of an thoughtless renter. As far as cons go, the vast unknown is really the one to worry about. While cosmetic issues are important, mechanical soundness is truly the bottom line with any used car purchase. Bottom line a good optionWhen purchasing a used vehicle, the rental agencies offer a viable option for purchase. Contrary to popular belief previous rental cars can be a great investment for anyone looking for a suitable used vehicle. Having access to maintenance records is a huge plus, and all things considered every vehicle they buy is the rental companies bread and butter. It is good business sense for them to keep them in tip top working order. <b>About the Author:</b> My name is Paige Filler and I'm a creative writer with a love of all things that go vroom.

Government Siezed Car Auctions
Every month the government collects 1000s of siezed cars, atv’s,buses, dirt bikes, trucks, motorcycles, campers, vans, and even aircraft! Where do they get them from? Many federal, state and local law enforcement agencies sieze these vehicles from criminals. They have tons and tons of vehicles on hand and need room so they offer auctions to interested people, people just like you and me. These items need to go fast, so the auctions can start from $100 or less! Lending institutions such as banks and the like also repossess many houses and businesses from people who dont keep up with their payments. They also put these items up for auction at unbelievably low prices. Anybody can get into these auctions and purchase the house or vehicle of their dreams. Where do you find government auctions? Usually the government auctions are held either locally or nationaly and they are mostly held in the same places all the time. You can search through your morning newspaper and maybe come across an auction. They are usually held on the same dates every year, so finding one in your local newspaper might take some time. A tip thats certainly worth mentioning is the simple fact that you should always do your research before going into any type of auction, especialy one that involves either homes, property or vehicles. Find out the items history and value and then decide if its worth going to an auction. Find out what type of vehicles you are interested in first, then look for all the information you can before getting into the auction. Remember this tip: Dont get caught up in a car auction hurricane! Dont keep bidding and bidding on something that might not be worth it. Thats why doing your research is so important. You will need to pay for the item after the auction at the auction sites specified time period. Make sure you dont over bid for something that isn’t worth the money. Everything you get from these auctions will most certainly be used, so dont get suckered in to a bidding hurricane. To find these auctions you may have to check out a national newspaper or ask the federal, state, or local agencies when and where they will be having thier next auction. Also, dont forget to check with all the banks in your area when their next auction will be. Most banks have branches all over the country so you may be able to find some really great deals that you normally couldnt get from your part of town. There are also some online government and bank agency auctions. These will charge you some money, on average around $50.00. But they do all the work for you, which is a plus. If you are new to auction, you may want to do extensive research on this topic as well. Here are some guidelines for your car auctions ventures-by all means, this isnt a complete list, but it lists some auction basics. For a more indepth look into auctions you should do some research at your local library or the internet. Yankee Auctions: This is an auction where the seller will list many of the same items. The winning bidders will pay their highest bid. Reserved Auctions: The seller will set a reserve price for the goods. If the bidders dont achieve this price, the seller can refuse to sell. The seller has a choice on whether to disclose the price of the item or not. Private Auctions: Bidders do not have to give their identities in this auction.Proxy Bidding Auctions: Proxy bidding is where the seller sets the highest price that they are willing to pay. Their bid is increased in increments until either they have won the auction, the auction ran higher than their highest bid, or somebody else won the auction. On Site Auction: These type of auctions are held by companies who have items that are much too large or costly to ship to an auction house. The bidders will have to go to the place of business for this type of auction. Hammer Price Auctions: This is a type of auction that stops when the auctioneer decides that the price has been met. Dutch Auctions: This auction is where the seller auctions off all of the same kind of items. The winning bidders of this auction only has to pay the lowest price that was bid on.Appraisal: An appraisal is when an auctioneer has looked over the item(s) and decided on the price from the condition it is in and from the extensive research the auctioneer has done on that type of item. American Auction: This is an auction where the seller submits many items for the same price. The winning bidder is someone who gives the highest bid for the most items. Absolute Auction: This is an auction where the seller submits an item and cannot put a reserve price on it. Sealed Bid Auctions: These auctions are done with the utmost secrecy. The bidders submit thier bids by envelopes and the envelopes are opened at a predermined time and place of the auction. Absentee Bids: These auctions are held for people who do not want to attend the auction. They simply submit thier bids, or have someone else do it for them, before the auction starts.
First Time buyers, bad credit auto loans, bad credit car loans,no credit car laons
How to get approved when you have no credit. They teach a lot of things in schools but one thing they don t teach is how to get a loan when you don t have any credit. So picture this you 18 years old you just graduated from high school and you need to get a car so you get to collage and your job what do you do. Well you might think do I get a cosigner? Do I buy car cash? Do I go to every dealer in town to try to get a car loan? Well you if you have a cosigner then go ahead and use them, but if you don t what do you do? You need to go and pay cash or hope you don t get declined by every car dealer in town. You can do this be smart about starting you credit and make a plan before you run out their and make a mistake and get a car you can t afford on a interest rate that is to high and end up not be able to pay for it. If you want the best chance of getting approved you what to make sure you have got a job and have been on that job for at least 1 year. If you have been on your job for less than 1 year you are going to need a previous form of employment and preferable in the same field.Once you have figured out that a job is important to getting loans prepare yourself to prove your income. We you get ready to prove your income you need to have a computerized pay stub and maybe even a W-2 form from your previous one to two years income if you have been on your job that long. If you don t have a computerized pay stub then you need to get copies of you cancelled checks from payroll and or letter from your employer stating your start date on your job, position, and pay rate. Once you got the proof of income taken care of you need to make sure you have some money down. The more money that you have down the better chance you have of getting approved for a loan and also the lower payment you will have. When a bank lends to a first time buyer or a consumer with no credit they like to see some sort of investment on the consumer behalf. The banks feel that if a consumer is buying the car with no credit is willing to invest some of their hard earned money in the car that they apply for a loan for then they will be more like to pay for that car.Once you have got the down payment taken care of then you need to be reasonable about what type of car you are going to buy. This means a car around ten thousand dollars. Make sure the payment is around 15% percent of you gross monthly income. You may be able to get a little bit more expensive new vehicle through a first time buyer program with manufacture. One manufacturer that has a first time buyer program is Ford. If you need a reputable company to put you in touch with a dealer that can get you approved on a first time buyer program check out http://www.shotcredit.com.Best of luck getting your new or used vehicle hopefully you take you no credit to good credit instead of bad credit.

Should I Buy An Extended Vehicle Warranty?
Whether you are purchasing a new or used car, breakdowns can occur. It?s always a worry that you could have major problems such as engine trouble or a transmission that stops shifting, and you suddenly are digging deep into your pockets for the cash to repair it. So the question that arises often is ?Should I Buy An Extended Vehicle Warranty?? There are always pros and cons. An extended vehicle warranty adds to your total cost, but over the long run it can also be very beneficial especially if a big breakdown occurs. A vehicle extended warranty is a contract between a vehicle warranty company and you. It isn?t an insurance policy even though most people think of it as one. It is actually the most profitable service a car dealer sells, but it can also be very beneficial to the consumer. When you buy a new car you get the manufacturers warranty. Then, for a specific fee, you can extend that warranty. If you tend to keep your vehicles longer than the period of the original warranty purchasing the extended warranty can make good sense. If however you tend to trade your vehicles in every few years, the purchase of the extended warranty would probably not be beneficial. When it comes to used vehicles, some dealers will offer a 30 day warranty and then offer to sell you an extended warranty. There are many companies that are now offering extended warranty coverage on used vehicles. Purchasing an extended warranty is a great way to give you peace of mind. You can protect your investment and your pocket book from unexpected costs. Extended warranties usually offer the same benefits as your new car warranty. This means that no matter where you travel within North America your warranty will cover you. Some extended warranties cover just the powertrain, while others cover bumper to bumper. Be sure to check with your dealer or read your policy. As an added bonus, almost all extended warranties offer 24 hour roadside assistance. Roadside assistance includes gas drops, flat tire changes, locksmith, and towing benefits. You may also get benefits such as vehicle replacement in the event of a breakdown along with accommodation expenses. Filing claims is a simple process. Many dealers simply require you to provide proof of coverage. Normally you are issued a coverage card. If you are dealing with your local dealership, chances are you are in their computer system. On used vehicles you usually are required to pay the costs and then submit the bill for reimbursement. Different plans have different deductibles. Don?t buy your extended warranty coverage by price alone. More doesn?t mean better; but then again cheap can mean that many repairs are exempt so read the fine print and read the entire policy carefully before signing on the dotted line. With so many companies offering extended warranty coverage online and through dealers, it?s important you are sure that the company is reputable. If your extended warranty comes from Ford or GM it?s pretty straightforward; but otherwise you?ll want to make sure you are dealing with a well funded company. Whether you should buy extended vehicle warranty coverage is really a personal choice, but good coverage can be beneficial. If there?s one thing for certain, vehicles will break down. It?s just a matter of when. Gray Rollins is a writer for automotive websites.
Ford Extended Warranty - Know The Facts
An extended warranty is something extra?something you add-on when you purchase a vehicle. It is different from a regular warranty. Often, a regular warranty will be thrown-in when you buy a vehicle, and it will cover some repair work on certain parts. Usually, such warranties are for a specific amount of time or vehicle use, such as 3 years or 25,000 miles. An extended warranty, though, covers your vehicle for a longer period of time, for example, 5 years or 50,000 miles. You can usually buy an extended warranty when you buy a vehicle. An extended warranty will be added on to your purchase and worked in to your monthly payment. For as little as it will cost, you will receive peace-of-mind, knowing that your vehicle is covered around the time when you might expect something to go wrong. You can buy an extended warranty from the dealer, through a broker, or even from the manufacturer. Take the Ford extended warranty, for example. They offer a number of extended warranties for their vehicles. If you drive a Ford Focus, you are offered these Ford extended warranty options: pre-paid maintenance plan, powertraincare extended service plan (covers 29 components), basecare extended service plan (covers 84 components), extracare extended service plan (covers 113 components), and the premiumcare extended service plan (covers over 500 components). There are many options for a Ford extended warranty. You need to look at your vehicle, study the plans, and decide how much comfort and peace-of-mind you want or need. For example, if you trust Ford, you might select the pre-paid maintenance plan. This plan will cover basic maintenance, and make sure that your car is kept optimal. But if you want more protection, you might choose the powertrain plan, or any of the other plans that offer more-and-more protection. A Ford extended warranty offers you the peace-of-mind directly from the manufacturer and helps you feel secure driving your vehicle. R. Palkra has spent over 40 years in the automotive industry.

Replacing Ford Headlights
How horrible would it be one day to wake up and realize you don?t have any headlights? I think it would be pretty bad, it would not be safe to even drive your car if your headlights are broken or don?t work. Your lights are one of the parts that will last you a long while. But since they are on the exterior they are exposed to elements that can be damaging. They can loose their original luster. You can give your Ford vehicle a new fresh look by changing the grille, mirror, taillights, Ford hood and spoiler. It is really simple and easy to replace Ford parts, especially the lights. The reason for that is Fords popularity. A good place to look for the parts is Ford Parts Online; they are one of the most trusted auto parts dealers on the internet. So check them out if you need to replace any parts on your Ford vehicle. But let?s go back to your Ford lights. It?s quite easy to change them yourself, just follow my directions and you?ll be on the road again. First remove the exposed plastic or metal trim around the housing to get the headlight ring and screws. Using the right tools remove the four ring screws. Be careful, because it is pretty easy to strip them. Put some penetrating oil on each one for a few minutes. Also be sure not to turn the headlight-aiming screws. Once you remove the retaining ring the headlight will be free. Just unplug the wiring connector that is in the back of the headlamp. Then plug back the connector into the back of new headlight then place it in the mounting base. The headlight will position itself due to lugs in the back, but if it doesn?t then that means you have it upside down. Turn on the new headlight to see if it is working. If it doesn?t come on it probably means there is a problem with the wiring. You next step would be to replace the retaining ring. But again, be careful about the screws. The last thing would be to replace the trim elements that you had to remove.
Tips on How to Save Gas
Fuel economy-maximizing behaviors or more popularly known as gas saving tips have been at the forefront of most drivers’ concerns thanks to the looming oil crisis. Basically, it is defined as a set of methods that drivers can utilize, in order to optimize their automobile’s fuel economy. There are many ways that energy is spent needlessly through driving. These include inefficient engine use, aerodynamic drag, friction, excessive braking, and many more. However, there are two general categories on how to save gas, which can be either basic or advanced. The former can be done by most drivers with little or no professional help, while the latter ought to be done by an experienced hypermiler. Basic Techniques The first thing that every driver should do in order to improve gas mileage is to inflate the tires to the maximum. This way, a smaller amount of energy is needed to move the automobile. In line with this, there should be minimum cargo as much as possible to remove the burden off the engine. Additionally, maintaining optimum speed should help significantly, which is usually measured in the 35 to 55 mph range. Aside from that, the driver should also pay attention to braking and acceleration. That means braking and acceleration should not be sudden and they should be minimized as much as possible. Another way to save gas is through coasting. That means the engine is still running, although the transmission is set to neutral. Bear in mind that fuel is still consumed when coasting, although far less than the driver would in normal driving conditions. These basic techniques are recommended for the average user and these are also far simpler to execute as opposed to the advanced techniques that are discussed below. Advanced Pulse and glide is one of the most commonly used fuel saving tips by the advanced hypermiler. This method consists of driving to a certain speed limit called pulsing, which is then followed by a period of gliding. These two steps are repeated in order to maximize fuel economy. However, it is advised that the gliding stage should be done when the engine is not activated. Another sophisticated fuel saving tip is called drafting, which is otherwise known as slipstreaming. This technique involves two or more vehicles that are aligned in a close group, in order to decrease the overall effect of drag. This happens because the lead vehicle’s slipstream is utilized by the ones that follow it. Drafting is an effective way to increase gas mileage both for the lead and tail automobiles. Most hypermilers use this method when trailing larger vehicles and has was shown to increase Miles Per Gallon(MPG) efficiency by at least 11 percent. Overall, it is imperative for each driver to learn different ways on saving gas without having to spend on another part or accessory to accomplish it. However, enough caution ought to be considered whenever these techniques are used to prevent accidents or costly engine damage.
Source: www.ArticlePros.com

Accidents? What Do You Do?
Accidents could happen anytime. In fact, even if you are the careful driver or even if you are the reckless driver, you could actually meet accidents on the road. Sometimes, it even happens right on your street just as you are pulling away from your garage. What do you do when you get involved and be part of a traffic accident? According to the Consumer Protection Association of America, they are continually developing a list of suggestions to help drivers anticipate what they actually need to know when they have to deal with a traffic accident. This organization is also continuously increasing public awareness on traffic safety. The president of the association, Dr. Ray Bruce, state, These tips (on dealing with accidents) can make a big difference in everything from protecting yourself and your passengers to ensuring that you won t be without a car while yours is in the shop. Always have an emergency kit in your glove compartment. This should include a cellular phone, a pen, a paper, and a disposable camera. These would be to take important information about the scene. There should also be a card carrying information about your medical allergies or conditions that may require special attention. In the trunk, there should also be cones, warning triangles and emergency flares. If you are involved in minor accidents and there are no serious injuries, move your cars to the side. Do not stay on the road and bother oncoming traffic. If you do such a thing, chances are that there might be more traffic accidents headed your way because of your vehicles obstructing the road. On the other hand, if the car cannot be moved, make sure that you warn other motorists by setting out your hazard lights, cones, flares, or warning triangles. Exchange information with the other parties involved. Exchange names, addresses, phone numbers, insurance companies, policy numbers, drivers license numbers, and license plate numbers. Also, take down the description of each car, the year, make, model, and color. The location of the collision and how it happened should also be recorded. If your vehicle needs some replacement parts, you can actually get them for low prices at Auto Parts Online which specializes in Jeep parts although there are other vehicle parts available as well. In recent past there has been a tremendous Development took place in the silicon city of India called Bangalore .Consequently the effect on the infrastructure is quite visible. Earlier in Bangalore, I never have seen such a wild and congested traffic but now the case is quite different. Time is Not far away when the people of Bangalore will have to face all sorts of Road traffic problem as it is now seen in various metros Like In Delhi , Calcutta , Mumbai etc . Moreover one good news for the People of Bangalore is that recently few weeks back all the prominent Business leaders, academician and Research scholars met in the city along with the chief minister courtesy times Now, Media partner, to evaluate the development of Bangalore city and the steps required to take to met the growing demands of the population, improve the infrastructure . Moreover, to make the Bangalore city redefined and reshaped to face the challenge of new emerging hi-tech metro city of India. The work has just begun. I am feeling quite satisfied and happy to see the nature and cool temperament of the inhabitants of the City of Bangalore. This gives me a good hope at last there is one city where we can Say road rage is obsolete word in this city traffic. I hope my dream and every one s dream of turning Our Beautiful Bangalore into an ultra modern world Class City for its inhabitants will come true very soon.
Common mistakes people make when buying a car at a dealership
No one ever said buying a car is easy. However, it doesn’t have to be hard if you do a little homework first. There is tons of information about how to buy a car from a dealership, but here we thought we’d try a different tactic. Here we will show you some of the common mistakes people make at dealerships and how to avoid them. Common mistakesWe may not cover them all, but here are some of the most common mistakes that will probably cost you money. Falling in loveLets face it, emotion has no place in any business transaction. Unfortunately car shopping and purchasing can easily be guided by emotions. I’m not singling women out, because I am one, but the fact remains we tend to be the more emotionally driven gender. I must confess that emotion played a huge part in my last vehicle purchase. Needless to say that now, as I tear up every time I have to fill my gas tank, I wish I had purchased with my head instead of my heart.Keep your emotions in check. Be sure to react to fact rather than feeling. It is important to love what you drive. Like with people, superficial feelings don’t last but that uncomfortable drivers seat, or the squeaky sound under the hood will. Not planning aheadThis is self explanatory. Research is king folks, the more you do the more you know, and knowledge is power. Car salesmen pressure will be easier to resist if you know your product. Not taking a driveTruly the most important part of the process is a test drive. Anyone who skips this vital step should not have the luxury of complaining when the vehicle they purchase doesn’t suit them. Focusing on monthly paymentsOne of the oldest gimmicks in any sales mans repertoire is selling the package (full of stuff you don’t need) by breaking it down into monthly payments. It seems like they are being helpful when they ask you how much you can afford a month, however this is all part of their selling process. Frankly waiting until you hit a dealership to consider your financing options is like showing up for a midterm unprepared. Have a ceiling price in your head, and make sure you have a calculated feel for the associated monthly payments. If you can, apply for bank funding before you begin to shop. This will not only get you the best interest rate, but will also allow you to shop independent of dealership finance departments. Good and bad optionsNo car dealership purchase would be complete without the salesmen pushing extras and options. Some of which are worth it, some not. Things such as rustproofing, stain resistant treatments for fabrics, and paint clear coats are all extras that carry a hefty price tag and no real economical value.Safety features are a different story and clearly worth the money. Options like side airbags, anti-lock brake system (ABS), and electronic stability control (ESC) could potentially be worth all the money in the world. Use your salesmanThe person trying to sell you a car doesn’t have to be your enemy, keeping your emotions out of the equation will help to ensure a smoother purchase. Your salesman is a wealth of information about the brand, the model, not to mention the options that you do want. Ask questions, gather information from all possible sources. Chances are the salesman has driven every car on the lot multiple times. Ask their opinion, ask why, knowing what you want will help you zero in on important information that could influence your purchase. <b>About the Author:</b> My name is Paige Filler and I'm a creative writer with a love of all things that go vroom.

Houston Craigslist Cars
Houston Craigslist cars is a rapidly growing trend for on-line used cars shopping. I will start by briefly introducing Craigslist to those unfamiliar with it, then will focus on Houston Craigslist cars. Craigslist, a local community for classifieds and forums that targeted started in early 1995, and 8 years later became the 7th most visited website on the world wide web. It basically follows the concept of the classifieds section in your local newspapers. The listings are posted by product sellers, and service providers, then browsed by those interested in the products or services. Some think of it a virtual swap meet or flee market. An advantage that puts the website over traditional methods, and other virtual shopping centers is that as of July 2007 the listings are free, therefore the seller doesn’t have to raise the price to compensate for the listing cost, and that you can also use it to try and sell, or trade your own car for free. I have personally listed cars for sale on craiglist, and have also bought cars, car parts, and even show tickets. However, I was very caution, because there were no guarantees what so ever, and the seller had nothing to worry about such as a rating or a craiglist reputation. The seller can write anything about the car, and if the buyers is not willing to do their homework and research about this specific car, once a bill of sale is made, and and AS IS form is signed the seller is not liable for anything, especially that they can claim the description was to the best of their knowledge. I have personally contacted sellers and inquired about their cars, pretending not to know much about the car, and as you would expect, some immoral dealers, or private sellers to advantage of it, and tried as much as possible to hide information until their faced with it. I have decided to dedicate a series of articles to educate the car shoppers about Houston Craigslist cars. I will include the scams to watch out for, how to research the history of the car listed, and the different tricks the car dealers are using to take advantage of the search mechanism. Visit the section I dedicated my website you are interested in obtaining more information about Houston craigslist cars. Copyright - 2007 Khalid R.
Understanding Your Auto Warranty
The auto warranty is something everyone thinks about when they are purchasing a car, but few of these people realize that they need to think about it after that as well. You go into a dealership, which convinces you to purchase an auto that is perfect for you. What seals the deal, in many cases, is the fact that the auto has an auto warranty on it. You think that they could not or would not offer a warranty on a product that wasn’t up to standards. So, you purchase your car and get your auto warranty. Regardless of the car, the make or model number, you simply shove that auto warranty into the glove box and call it done. But, what you need to do is to know what is covered on that warranty, what you need to do to get those services, and what you need to do to keep that warranty up to date. Getting the information that you need to make a decision about your auto warranty is also important. For many people, they may not even realize that they should read the thing! You would be surprised at what is and isn’t covered in that warranty. If you have one and you haven’t read it, dig it out and get going. What you will want to know first of all is what things it cover. Does the auto warranty cover things such as parts and oil changes? Does it cover the tires, brakes and the body work? Now that you know that, do you know what to do to get the services that it covers? Read on. Learn where you will need to go to get these services, if there will be any fee and what happens if you don’t go to the right location. Lastly, you also want to know about the auto warranty expiration date if there is one. In some cases, you may actually be able to increase that amount of time by purchasing a warranty extension. The auto warranty can offer many things after all. For more information please see <a href="http://www.auto-warranty-help.co.uk" target="_blank">http://www.auto-warranty-help.co.uk</a>
Source: www.ArticlePros.com

Finding BMW Spares Can Be Easy
BMW is a well established brand in the automotive industry. This makes finding BMW spares easier for the back yard mechanic. The local breaker or salvage yard is a great place to start looking for that special part you might need. There are all kinds of undiscovered treasures lurking inside the gates of these facilities. Even better, the price of the salvage parts is usually much less than from other sources. There are some things to think about when you decide to purchase a BMW spare that is salvaged. Most important is the safety of the part. Anything structural should probably be purchased new. It is hard to tell what kind of microscopic damage could have happened during whatever accident brought the original car to the salvage. When it comes to safety, play it safe. Pay the extra money to purchase from a reputable dealer. An added bonus is that new purchases often come with a warranty. BMW spares can also be bought on the cheap over the internet. Online auction sites, like EBay, often offer the one part you must have. To save guard your investment in these parts, check the history of the seller. It is usually a good idea not to buy big ticket items from a seller you don t know. Buying BMW spares, or any automotive spares, online can also get you with hidden costs. Shipping and handling for the heavy parts can sometimes run more than the part itself. Search around, read the fine print, and compare the total cost with something you could get locally. You may be surprised to find out that local is actually the least expensive way of doing business. Because of the popularity of some automobiles, it is usually easy to find cars to fix up and the parts to do it with. BMW spares can be found online at shops, online at auction sites, and locally at breakers and salvage yards. Look around and find the best price for the part you need. She has written various articles on <a href="http://www.247spares.co.uk/bmw">BMW parts</a> and <a href="http://www.legalstreets.com/bmw/">BMW cars</a> in general.
Source: www.ArticlePros.com
